Children’s Room

The Toy Story crew knows library cards help bring great stories to life.  From borrowing books, movies, or museum passes, to enjoying story time or group play, there’s no end to the exciting activities you can access with a library card!

Anyone in the Island Trees school district ages 5 & up is able to get a library card from ITPL.  Do you have one?  If not, what are you waiting for?  It’s FREE, and a library card gives you access to:

  • Books, movies, music, and magazines!  If we don’t have it, or it’s checked out, a library card can put it on hold for you, or request it to be sent from another library!
  •  Digital audiobooks and e-books for all ages through Overdrive!

  • Video games!  We have games for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, XBox 360, XBox One, Wii, and Wii U, exclusively for Island Trees patrons!
  • We have Museum Passes!  You can visit places like the Long Island Children’s Museum without having to pay an admission fee!  Plan ahead and reserve them, they’re really popular!
  • We have a lot of programs for all ages!  All of our children’s programs cost nothing, and you can sign up for them from your computer or phone using your handy barcode on your library card.  Click on the Events Calendar tab at the top of this page to see what’s available.
  • Have you seen our databases for kids?  We have some that are perfect for reports, and others that feature stories and games!  They are free to use as a library patron from home, an all you need is your library card barcode!  Take a look!
